A breakthrough in energy storage might be on the cards

There are almost 1.2 billion people in the world without proper access to electricity. And without electricity one cannot be a part of the modern world. So, it is not only imperative to exploit renewable energy sources especially solar energy but also to ensure that electricity is supplied continuously.

To ensure a continuous and optimum supply of electricity, it is necessary to invest in developing technology which can take solar power during the day and store it for use during the night. This will supply power to numerous households in a way that was impossible earlier and even reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

A significant step was taken in this direction by a Swedish solar energy company, Azelio in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) along with Khalifa University of Science and Technology to run a pilot project evaluating new technology in power storage. This project will test and demonstrate energy storing solutions for projects that use solar and wind energy and provide electricity on demand.

Moreover, Azelio’s ingenious storing innovation ensures that the electricity generated by a renewable source can be accessible at all hours of the day. It can replace a lot of diesel-burning while using generators and benefits the climate and environment.

Renewable energy in its purest form is readily available and with this project, Azelio shows that there is a greater opportunity for sustainable growth.
