In addition to the inspection of the switchgear, ensure that the safety procedures are being followed. The switch room should always be dry and cool. Excessive levels of humidity can adversely affect the function of switchgear. All the components should have proper insulation to avoid electric shocks and electrocution. Access to the switch room should only be given to the authorised personnel. Untrained workers should not have the access to switch rooms or should be continuously supervised.
